Introduction 

Kary Mullis 

He was an American biochemist who was born on 28th December 1944 in Lenoir, North Carolina, U.S. He has completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and PhD in Biochemistry.

Contributions 

1) He invented the PCR in 1983 which is used in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, medicine and forensics.

2) He also invented a UV-sensitive plastic that changes color in response to light.

3) He founded Altermune LLC in 2011 to pursue new ideas on the immune system.

Awards

He was awarded with William Allan Award in 1990

Robert Koch Prize in 1992, Japan Prize and Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1993.
