Exam Analysis: UGC NET December 2025 Forensic Science  

Introduction 
The UGC NET (University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test) is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions in Indian universities and colleges.

Exam Pattern
The exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.

- Paper 1: General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude
    - 50 questions, 100 marks
    - Covers topics like teaching aptitude, research aptitude, reading comprehension, communication, and general awareness

- Paper 2: Subject- Forensic Science 
    - 100 questions, 200 marks

Marking Scheme
- +2 marks for each correct answer
- No negative marking for incorrect answers
- Total marks: 300 (100 for Paper 1, 200 for Paper 2)

Eligibility Criteria
- Master's degree in a relevant subject with minimum 55% marks (50% for reserved categories)
- No age limit for Assistant Professor
- Maximum age limit for JRF: 30 years (relaxation for reserved categories)


Exam Analysis 
The UGC NET Paper 2 Forensic Science exam was held on January 2, 2026.
UGC NET Exam 

Paper 1: Teaching and Research Aptitude 
This time DI was easy as compared to previous years.
One one question of Series, mathematical reasoning was there and was easy.
There were questions of higher education, logical reasoning, people, development and environment, teaching and research aptitude, and even from comunication part. 
Question from Higher and logical reasoning was liitle bit confusing.
Overall paper 1 was moderate.


Paper 2: Forensic Science 
More questions can be seen from DNA (DNA Markers, STR's), Ballistics, Analytical Analysis, Chemistry, making the students confused.
Then there were questions of fingerprint development, wound injury and poisoning as well
Paragraph based Questions: First paragraph was related to Cyber & Second paragraph was related to fire and ballistics, it was easy.
Important: BNS was introduced and 2 questions were there related to the section of Death and Document.
